Gemma Luxford is an emerging Fantasy Artist residing in Hackney, London where she was born and raised and is now raising two girls of her own.
Her love for Art started at a young age and she has been creating ever since. She started out with pencil, charcoal and acrylics. Self taught she started oil painting in 2013 and fell in love with the medium. She can be known to dabble in watercolours from time to time and hopes to work in more mediums as her career as an artist progresses.
Her pieces feature mythical creatures such as mermaids, faeries, unicorns and strong goddess fantasy like females. She is also known for her otherworldly landscapes, that appear as if out of a dream. Her work can either lean towards a dark or light mood because each piece is connected directly to her emotions and spirituality during the creation process but she always keeps her colours bold as her signature.
Inspired by nature, mythology, spirituality and history she brings her visions, channeled messages and emotions to life on canvas.
In February of 2019 she became one of the top 100 artists at Capital art gallery in London and has been included in many Exhibitions there since. She has also been invited to live paint and do live demonstrations by several organisations and hopes to do many more.

Gemma has her own Etsy shop where you will find Fine art prints and Original Oil paintings.

Artist statement

It feels amazing to be doing what I love no matter how long it took to get here. My two daughters are my biggest fans and I hope I can touch the imagination of many others in the world. My work is very colourful and has a surreal and spiritual style. The goal of my artwork is to inspire others to express themselves as boldly as possibly and that realism is not the only style of art that is recognised. Its okay to be different and to not understand your own visions, art is a form of self expression, so express yourself without fear. You never know what vision will touch anothers soul.
The support and lovely comments I have received from all over the world are a constant reminder to not give up and I’m so grateful to my supporters for all their kind words and love.
Follow your heart, don’t give up on your dreams no matter how old you are or how many obstacles interrupt them. Pick your passion back up as soon as you can. It is who you are so never be ashamed of it no matter how unrealistic others think it is.

Peace, Love and Light to you all,
Gemma Luxford
